Ninemile Wolves: Themes
The story of Ninemile Wolves is connected by tracking a pack of wolves. The main ideas of this piece is to give audiences a brief realization of wolves' habits and the change in America in the past years. In 1920s, the government planned to hunt and kill all the predator including wolves in America. People replaced wild land with farms. Obviously, America lost its wilderness. Almost all the wolves were exterminated. The increaseing population of deers and elks broke the balance of nature. After that, the government began to do the reintroduction of wolves. The author also talked about the balance between wolves and human beings. The wolves are chasing deers while people are chasing wolves.
